There may be occasions where you require the doctor to provide you with a medical opinion, letter or signature. Such requests are not part of the doctors’ NHS work and therefore attract a private fee charge.
We can only action requests with the patient’s signed consent. Any request should be handed in at reception who will be able to advise you of the relevant fee.
Please do not hand any request directly to your doctor during a consultation as doing so will delay your request being actioned. Completed forms should be collected from reception. Payment should be made by debit/credit card.
As an independent business The Finchampstead Surgery is entitled to charge for work that is considered private under its terms of contract with the NHS.
Your care and treatment provided by staff at the surgery will most likely be free at the point of contact as it falls within the NHS contract the surgery holds with the NHS. However there may be occasions when you require either a private medical consultation or procedure or you ay require the expert medical opinion of your GP in respect of your health or care
