Covid-19 – Changes to Minor Injury Service

Please be advised there are changes to The Royal Berkshire Hospital as of Monday the 30th March 2020

From Monday 30 March 2020 the Royal Berkshire Hospital site will no longer run a Minor Injury Service through the Emergency Department (A&E) as this hospital will be focusing resources on managing the Trust’s Covid-19 response.

From this date all patients requiring a minor injury service will need to present to the following sites:

  • West Berkshire Community Hospital, Newbury
    Opening Hours: 08:00-20:00
  • Bracknell Healthspace, Bracknell
    Opening Hours 08:00-20:00
  • Townlands Community Hospital, Henley
    Opening Hours 10:00-18:30

Outside of these opening hours, patients with severe injuries considered to be life or limb threatening may attend and will be seen at the Royal Berkshire hospital emergency department by the on call orthopaedic service. Please note that this will risk exposure to Covid-positive patients, and so we would advise to wait until the morning if the injury is not severe.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and thank you for supporting us.
