Surgery news and update April 2024

Surgery Statistics for missed appointments between 11.3.24 to 11.4.24.

The demand on the Surgery has increased tremendously, and we try our best to accommodate everyone to get appointments in a timely manner. However, late arrivals, missed or cancelled appointments without sufficient notice, creates a gap in our schedule. These are appointments that could be utilised to offer care to another patient. We do expect patients to arrive for their appointments on time or to notify us with plenty of notice if they need to reschedule. We cannot compromise on the quality and timely care provided to our other patients.

Road Closures

As we are sure you are all aware the road works at California Crossroads are ongoing. Please allow extra time when coming for an appointment at the surgery.

Surgery Car Park

We are unable to expand our car park due to planning restrictions. If you can please walk to your appointment or to the pharmacy to collect your medication. The potholes have been filled. We have asked the school to advise parents not to use our car park for school pick up and drop offs.

Spring Covid Booster

We will be holding two clinics for the Spring Booster on the mornings of Saturday 27th April 2024 and Saturday 18th May 2024. These are for patients above the ages of 75, or immunosuppressed.  Patients who have mobile phones have been texted and we will phone those without a mobile to invite them to book into a clinic. These are bookable appointments, please do not attend without an appointment. If you have been contacted by the NHS to have a vaccine as you are immunosuppressed, then you can also phone the Surgery to book into this clinic.

Mental Health Practitioner

Debbie Dew works as a Mental Health Practitioner and will be working from Finchampstead Surgery 2-3 days a week. If you would like to speak to Debbie about any mental health issues or concerns, please phone the surgery and our receptionists can book you either a face to face or telephone appointment with her.

Travel Vaccines

We are not a registered travel clinic. Due to the demand in General Practice, we are prioritising our patients needing chronic disease management and have limited appointments. We have reached our capacity for April 2024 and have limited appointments from May onwards. If you are unable to get an appointment with us then please refer to the Nathnac website for more information, but contact a MASTA clinic for help, advice and vaccinations.
