Surgery Update 17/12/2021

We have signed up to continue the booster vaccinations. We are inviting our patients only and this is being done via text. You will receive a text from us with a link to book at a vaccination clinic at the surgery. We are inviting in cohort order.

You no longer need to wait 15 minutes and can leave our building if you feel ok. However, if you have a history of allergies (particularly to other vaccines) or have had an immediate reaction to a previous dose please speak to a nurse at the clinic, you may be advised to wait 15 minutes.

You are still advised not to drive for 15 minutes – this is because of the risk of fainting so please either walk to the surgery or get a lift.

To date over 7200 of the Finchampstead Surgery patients have now received a Covid booster vaccine, either at the surgery or at a local vaccination hub.

Second dose covid vaccination for 12-15 year olds – we are not vaccinating this age group at the surgery. Approved vaccination sites will go live on the 20th December and sites can be found on the vaccination walk-in site finder. They will also be able to receive their vaccine in school from 10th January

We are aware that patients are receiving texts and/or emails from the NHS reminding them to have their booster vaccination when they have already had this; unfortunately, this is nothing to do with the Surgery therefore please do not contact us.

Flu vaccines

We still have a limited supply of flu vaccines at the Surgery, if you are aged over 50 or are in an at risk group you can call us to book an appointment.

Demand

Due to the increase in covid booster clinics we are only able to deal with urgent work and routine checks will need to be delayed whilst we prioritise our work as per the Government guidelines.

We are still experiencing a high volume of demand for our services and it is very disappointing to see an increased amount of patients not turning up for pre-booked appointments which could have been offered to someone else. You can cancel by text, through our website or by calling us.

Christmas Opening Hours

The Surgery will be closed Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and the Bank Holidays on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th December

We will re-open at 8am on Wednesday 29th December.
