Surgery update 3rd September 2021

Flu Clinics

We will be holding a flu clinic on the mornings of Saturday 18th September and Saturday 16th October. These will be bookable appointments only (NO walk-in appointments) please phone the surgery after 2pm any day except Monday to book an appointment. We are prioritising our patient’s aged 65 and older and those in a clinical at risk group. If you are a healthy 50-64 year old you are able to have a flu vaccine but we will not be setting up clinics until later in the year and have had our full delivery of vaccines arrive in the surgery. You can book a vaccine at a pharmacy.

COVID-19 Booster

We do not have an update on the booster vaccine.

Blood bottle shortage

There is an ongoing national shortage of blood bottles and as advised by the government we are having to cancel routine tests. Please see the alert at the top of our website page.

Demand

We are experiencing a huge surge in demand for appointments (around 20% higher than before the pandemic) please consider self-help for basic ailments (cuts, grazes and tummy upsets) Pharmacies for advice on ailments and medication. 111 – When the surgery is closed and you need medical help fast, but it is not a life threatening situation or you need to go to A&E. 999 – for a life threatening situation. We apologise if you are having to wait a little longer for your phone call to be answered, please be patient and polite to our reception team who are working very hard to keep up with demand.
